Therapy for multicultural couples
When two people come from different cultures, countries or languages, the relationship gets richer and also more complicated. What's normal for one of you, like how often to see family, how to talk about money or how to raise kids, can be a surprise or a conflict for the other.
At Terapia Latina we work with many couples from different backgrounds, and sessions can be in Spanish, in English or in both so no one is left out.
Issues we often see
Different expectations about the role of extended family
Misunderstandings because of language or what goes unsaid
Different ideas about parenting, money or roles
Feeling like one partner has to adapt more than the other
Decisions about where to live or which language to raise the kids in
Lack of emotional connection or the same arguments over and over
How we work
We act as a third set of eyes that helps you see patterns you can't quite notice as a couple. We help each of you understand the other's story and culture, communicate more clearly and build agreements of your own, without either culture having to disappear.
If your partner isn't fluent in Spanish or English, the therapist can help translate during the session. Learn more about our couples therapy.

Yes. Online therapy lets each of you connect from wherever you are, as long as you both live in Texas.
What if my partner doesn't want to come?
